For this month’s edition of Prayer Corner, James will be sharing with us on the Fall season and inviting us to pray for the students and our church in this season.
September ’23: Time of the Season

Bible Passage: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 – For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
2 – A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.
3 – A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 – A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.
5 – A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
6 – A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away.
7 – A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
8 – A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.
As we enter into a new season (Fall), where do you find yourself? What time of the season are you in? For the children, it’s time to get out of the holiday mode and back to school again. So let us pray for the children going back to elementary school. May they have an easy transition back to school. For the students in High School, may they absorb and gain greater knowledge. For the University students, may they adjust to a higher level of learning. Pray that they will include God in every step of their journey at school. Pray that no matter how heavy the school load is, that they will still have time for the Lord. Pray that God will guide and comfort them, especially those that will be leaving home.
As Youth Fellowships will be starting up again, let’s pray that the Lord will provide the Youth Leaders as needed. Let us pray for all the Youth Fellowships, EDGe, CYF, SLG, JCKidz, and the building of the SLT team. Let us pray for Pastor Andrew and Pastor Brian, for their guidance in leading the Children and Youth Ministries into a New Year.
As our Church enter into a new phase of rebuild, let us pray for the Lord’s blessing and guidance.
Pray for Pastor Sam and Pastor Ray, for God’s guidance in leading VCBC and EC through this new season of rebuild and continuing spiritual growth. Let us pray for our members to have the yearning to attend “Alpha Course”. Let us pray that the Lord will touch the right brothers and sisters to attend “Total Growth”.
So what season are you in? Let us pray for God’s guidance in our lives. Are we stuck in one season? Do you feel God is telling you it’s time to move forward? If you find yourself too comfortable, God is going to push you out of your comfort zone. He wants all of us to continue to grow. With that growth, may we further his kingdom and bring glory to His name.
