Fall Adult SLG: Haggai/Zechariah

Led by Rev. Paul Chan, We shall study the Books of Haggai and Zechariah which were not only written within months from each other, having the same background, with prophecies of both the first and second coming of our Lord Jesus, but also with some extremely relevant and important messages for both their time and ours.

We shall look at the amazingly fulfilled prophecies concerning Jesus’ riding on a donkey to enter Jerusalem and how he was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver which in turn were used to purchase a potter’s field—accurately fulfilled prophecies that prove the Bible is, indeed, the very Word of God.  With such assurance, we can also be confident that the amazing prophecies about His Second Coming will be fulfilled as well, not just the punishing of the nations hostile to God and His people, but also how Israel will come to repent and “look upon the one they have pierced”.

However, the immediate core message by the prophets is to encourage, admonish and empower the “remnant” who  have returned from exile to rebuild the temple in the midst of setbacks, oppositions and spiritual apathy.  This message carries significance and relevancy to the church of our time as we seek also to build the house of the Lord.
