Following the Province’s Phase 2 Reopening Plan coming into effect on June 15, the Board will now permit ministry team preparatory activities to take place at the church (e.g. Nurturing classes/Worship recording sessions/Children and Youth Ministry program preparations) and some in-person outdoor activities for Youth Ministry, all of which are still subject to all established protocols and Church Facility COVID-19 Safety Plan as well as current PHO guidelines.

Following the Board of Directors’ decision, the Church Office staff have resumed working at church on a rotation basis every Wednesday to Friday. The church building is still not accessible to anyone else except through prior approval by the Moderators or Pastor Sam. Quick pick-up/drop-off can be made outside the side door, please call the Office first (604-325-6314) and wear a face mask when you arrive. Thanks.
(Updated April 1, 2021)
Due to B.C. government’s most recently announced 3-week “circuit breaker” lockdown, the church’s Board of Directors has decided to have all church staff work from home for the duration until the government’s next public announcement around April 19. The staff can still be reached by phone (604-325-6314) or their email to provide regular service and assistance as best as they can. Thank you so much for your understanding.
(Updated Nov. 20, 2020)
In observance of recent provincial public health orders, the Board has decided to close our church property from use until further government advisory. Staff and essential ministry teams will continue to work remotely from their own homes. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
(Updated May 17, 2020)
Upon reviewing the B.C. Government’s May 6 announcement of a phased Restart Plan for the province and additional pronouncements—with gradual easing of public restrictions to commence on May 19—our Board of Directors has given approval for some church administrative staff to work partially at home and partially at church on a trial basis starting on May 20. The church remains closed to everyone else, and prior permission for ministry leaders from the Board (through the Moderator) or the Pastoral Team (through Rev. Sam Wong) is still required in order to enter church premise. Note: the Pastoral Staff will continue to work from home during this time until further notice.
During this time, church’s phone number will be forwarded to one of our secretaries. As a result, you may still call 604-325-6314 for any inquiry, and our staff will continue to serve you. You may also contact any of our pastors by calling the church’s number and their extension. You call will then be transferred to their cellphones.
Though this is an unprecedented situation we are all in, VCBC will continue to try our best to serve and help our members as well as our community. Our Community Care Initiative will continue to seek opportunity to help those in needs, such as food & grocery delivery. For any person who needs help in such area, please call 604-325-6314 to talk to our staff, and our volunteers will try their best to assist you. Also, our Charity Fund will continue to invite application for financial assistance. Last but not least, our pastors and deacons will continue to contact our brothers and sisters for spiritual care.
We will also continue to maintain our Sunday Services via internet. Brothers and sisters should continue to check our website for any update and instructions.
Thank you very much for your understanding. May God protect your body, your mind, and your spirit.
